I spent most of this week planning for next week's Northern adventure. Along with planning and packing, I helped a friend move from her apartment to her first house.
Oddly enough, this week the trees started to change color. I thought it was early last year, but I am sure this is even earlier.
On Saturday a different friend came for a visit. We started the day at Gus's Diner in Verona. They have the best shakes in town, so even though it was still quite early and I'm lactose intolerant, I had the butterscotch shake. I got their special of the day-pork chop and eggs.
Afterwards, we wandered around the Epic campus. One of these days I plan to do a deep dive on each of their many campuses.
Wandering the campus took over 4 hours but we had just enough left in us to visit La Fete de Marquette. It was boiling out so we didn't stay long. I did grab some cheesecurds from Curd Girl.
Sunday was spent last minute packing and cleaning for our big adventure to the Northwoods.
Happy Trails!
