This happened to me last summer too. I filled my June with big ambitions and a mini trip every weekend. By August, I was burnt out and broke. It seems I haven't learned.
These weeks have been a little more couch than car. To be fair, there is nothing wrong with that. It's ok to not go out every weekend in fear of missing out. But, I'm me, so I still snuck in some fun things.
During my visit with a friend, she gave me some heatless curlers to try. I have tried a variety at this point and I am always down to try something new. These ones are like tubes that you pull your wet hair into and they curl up. Unfortunately, they are extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. So as of today, my octopus still wins for best heatless curler.

On Friday, my family came down and I officially said Yes to the Dress at Vera's!
While I know I am happy with my decision, I am very anxious about this decision. One reason being that it is still early and I feel like I could have waited a bit longer and possibly tried on more dresses. The other reason is because I had another top dress at another place and it makes me wonder if I liked that dress more. Plus, the folks at that location were so warm and friendly. But, a happy moment is still a happy moment and I am always going to think "what if?" for everything I do in life.
Saturday, August 3rd was our celebrated Mustard Day in Middleton. We had a short visit and enjoyed a grilled cheese and a couple o' hot dogs with a variety of mustards. We spent the rest of the day helping my friend with some yard work.
On Tuesday, I found this huge moth.
Looking back at these weeks, I really spent a lot of time watching tv. I started with SATC and I am currently trying to get through GOT.
So Sunday, I went to the UW Madison Arboretum. Personally, I will always enjoy the Lakeshore Nature Preserve, but this visit to the Arboretum was quite special.
I saw quite a few animals during my 2 mile hike. One of them was a young buck that I took possibly the best photos I will ever take. I also got a video of a bumblebee and the deer, though the quality isn't great.
To wrap up the week, I hit 10k followers on TikTok! Thank you to each and every one of you who has followed, read, commented, and shared my content. It means the world to me!
