Haunting Milwaukee

2020 brought many challenged when it came to travel. Thankfully, I was able to find socially distanced fun close to home. One of my favorite trips of the year was checking out Halloween displays in the Milwaukee area.

Maggie and I started the night with some caffeine from Goddess and the Baker (340 High St, Brookfield, WI 53045). I tried the Pumpkin Apple Cider latte and immediately fell in love. Maggie had the Jitters chocolate espresso. I also tried a skull shaped truffle and it was delicious!

Next was a stop to Jamestown Lights (6509 Williamsburg Way, Racine, WI 53406). Turn your radio to 97.7 and enjoy a light show from someone's backyard. This year's show is dedicated to a family member who passed away from the virus. It's real folks. This show gives the family safe space from other watchers. Watch as the house comes to life and lights up to your favorite Halloween tunes. (Sorry the video isn't great quality)

The Nightmare on East Vogel (2615 E Vogel Ave, Cudahy, WI 53110) is a front yard walk through experience. I ain't about haunted houses, so this is perfect for all you horror fans out there. Some of the characters go off without warning, others allow you to press their buttons. Donations are welcome for Second Hand Purrs. This show is weather permitting.

Are you as big of a Disney fan as I am? Then you will love our next stop. This home (6739 W Monona Pl, West Allis, WI 53219) has been invaded by the Disney Villains. The detail in each character is amazing. Two skeletons greet you to the enchanting House of M̶o̶u̶s̶e̶ Villains.

We ended the night at City Lounge (3455 E Layton Ave, Cudahy, WI 53110) which has a large Halloween themed drink menu. We decided to come solely due to a drink served in blood bags! Once we got there, we found the whole bar was turned into a walk through Halloween exhibit. City Lounge offered trivia nights and a costume contest on Halloween. If you miss them for Halloween, be sure to check them out for the holidays!
